The Evergreen Tomato is a delicious heirloom introduced in Ohio in 1956. It is highly prized for its sweet, yet classic fried green tomato flavor. Plants produce large beefsteak style tomatoes that will ripen mid-late season to be a light yellow blush with mostly green skin, and vivid green flesh throughout the tomato.
Highly prized in salads and fresh sliced but not so great in cooking because the flavor gets lost and color is not able to be appreciated either. A decent producer and decently hardy in heat, drought, and cool weather.
